Your career in journalism starts whenever you want it to.
Over the coming months the Irish Student Press would like to receive articles from young writers who are interested in a career in journalism.

The articles can be reviews of films, albums, concerts, computer games or books. We would love to receive articles on fashion, sport or life in general. If you have an interest in current affairs, don’t miss this opportunity to write for a national paper with a circulation of over 50,000 second level students nationwide.

All suitable articles will be published on our website and the most promising writers will be short listed for work on next year’s print editions of the Irish Student Press which will be distributed from September 2010.

The Irish Student Press is your paper and we would like to receive content from you, the readers(either students or teachers). At the moment we are looking for articles under the following headings:

• The best extra curricular activity that our school has been involved in
• An account of a match or competitive event such as a debate that has recently taken place in your school
• A description of the best projects that students have taken on in your school
• “Best of the web”, we would like to publish a list and brief description of any websites that you find useful, (please only send in sites that can be accessed from inside your school)
• We also welcome letters on any subject that takes your fancy
• *Photographs are also welcome, but please ensure that you have the permission of the people in the photograph and permission from school management before you send them in
• We would also be happy to publish copies of your artwork, ideally accompanied by a brief description of what you as the artist hoped to achieve
• Any other suggetions would be gratefully received

All submissions should be sent to info@studentpress.ie and marked “content” in subject box. *Please note that all Photographs should be sent in at 300dpi (dots per inch) at the size you want the image to appear in the paper.
