New iPhone

imagesIt seems that fans of Apple’s iPhone won’t have to wait for Steve Jobs’ Keynote speech to see the latest model as popular tech site Gizmodo claims to have gotten their hands on one.

The “iPhone HD” seems to have a more square shape, larger battery, front facing camera and a camera flash. Many of these are features iPhone users have been crying out for since the first model.

The “iPhone” was reportedly found on the floor of a bar in San Jose, California. This is unsurprising as Apple along with many technology firms are based in this part of California known as the Silicon Valley.

But is this the real thing? The site that bought the phone for an undisclosed figure seems think so.
‘We’re as skeptical–if not more–than all of you. We get false tips all the time. But after playing with it for about a week–the overall quality feels exactly like a finished final Apple phone–and disassembling this unit, there is so much evidence stacked in its favor, that there’s very little possibility that it’s a fake. In fact, the possibility is almost none.’

It increasingly appears to be real as in recent days Apple’s lawyers have sent a formal notice to Gizmodo saying they want it back. A police investigation centering around the iPhone has also been launched which has resulted in the seizure of several computers.

Is this the real thing? Well all will be revealed soon enough as Apple are set to announce the latest iPhone  sometime this summer.
